Yarn Dolls

Today we started to make our yarn dolls to sell the at 150 Years School Gala this Saturday.
We had the help of some amazing parents as well, thank you to Tiff, Coleen, Dana, Justine, Meg, Bob, Tracey, Vanessa, Rachel and Shalagh.  Without your help we would not have been able to do the job and we think they look pretty cool.
We think they would make excellent Xmas tree decorations and some of thought they would just make a great toy!
Kenn took some photos while we were hard at work check us out!

Happy Birthday Arrowtown School!

What a day!
Today Arrowtown School celebrated it's 150th birthday.  All the children and teacher dressed up in period costumes and really looked the part.  Everybody walked to school and some even rode horses!  Our classes ran just like a class would have 150 years ago.  We worked on our arithmatic, we did drills, folk dancing and plenty of penmanship practice.
At lunch time we had an area where the ladies (girls) played and an area for the gentleman (boys).  We played kick the can, hop scotch, skipping and the minors band played songs for us to dance to.  It was a very different day compared to how school is now we are looking forward to seeing how we all felt about it tomorrow.
Here are some photos from the day.

The Cat Attack - Blogger - George

On Wednesday we had a cat attack in Room 14.  Mango the cat came into Room 14 and he was very angry.  Ben tried to talk to Mango and be his friend but Mango attacked Ben!
He bit him on his forehead and scratched his face.  Ben was very sad when it happened.  Mrs Chisholm put Mango outside.  We think he was just having a growly day!

First Day of Term 4 - Blogger - George

Today was the first day of Term 4 we did some drawing and writing.  We learnt about edges and corners in maths and we started to look at what it was like to be at school 150 years ago.  It was a wet lunchtime so we got to watch Diary of a Whimpy Kid, Greg ripped his pants it was funny!
